Packmates Pet services

Meet the Packmates:
Brandy & Misty

Brandy

I share my home with a lively crew: Doc Holiday, my spirited rescue Australian Cattle Dog, and four rescue cats — Mao (my tuxedo girl), Bodhi (a giant ginger tabby), Karma, and Leo the Lionhearted (both grey tabbies and great hunters).

The photo you see here is Blu and me on a winter hike in 2023. Blu was my original Packmate — intelligent, loyal, and rarely more than a few steps from my side. He shaped so much of what Packmates has become.

I was raised on a farm and animals have always been woven into the rhythm of my life. I began pet sitting as a teenager, long before I ever considered it as a full time venture.

My previous professional background in Environmental Health and Safety Management sharpened my ability to think ahead, assess risk, and handle unexpected situations calmly — which is why some of our Meet & Greet questions may feel thoughtful and thorough. Preparation matters.

Understanding each pet’s unique personality comes from a lifetime of animal interactions. I tailor care to ensure every pet feels safe, understood, and genuinely content in their own home. Thank you for considering our local business for your pet’s care.

Caring for animals of all ages, sizes and needs began with doing chores alongside my grandfather on his farm.  Some of my experiences included showing steer with the local 4-H community, working with my father’s boarded horses, and always making friends with the neighborhood pets.  Animals have been some of my best teachers, and closest friends.

I’ve enjoyed being a trusted pet sitter for many years prior to collaborating on Packmates in 2022.  It has been a great venture, and we both appreciate supporting the community with our services.

I also work as a direct care support professional with people that have intellectual and developmental disabilities, and have for over 30 years. Communication, compassion and respect are keystones in all of my care practices.

Personally, I live with an American Staffordshire, Roxie.  She’s a sweet, gentle, older girl that loves trail walks, meeting new friends to show off her pretty pearl collar and colorful sweaters, evening bonfires or couch cuddles. I’m also an avid reader and history buff.

We look forward to meeting you and your pets!
